I stared at him for a moment and swallowed hard. I remembered my mother dying, because of that terrible man. Yes. And the man who saved my life. It was all terrible and vivid in my mind. Haunting my dreams, causing me pain. I would never get over not having my mother. She was the only thing I had I never knew who my father was or why he wasn't there to save her and me. Nimie let me go and looked down. His wavy black hair falling in his face.

A small happy child and his mother passed through the central park. It was a warm day in October and the stream was flooded with rain from a day or so earlier. The young woman in her late twenties wore a silk pink dress that draped comfortably over her curves and she carried a basket in her right hand. The child- a boy was brown haired and rosy with a smile. It was his birthday and two other little boys followed close beside him. Chasing laughing and playing they made faces and jumped at one another today was a special day
